    Vertical bands connecting the neck and jaw, also called platysma bands, are formed by the platysma muscle which is a thin muscle that covers the neck and extends over the lower face. When this muscle is contracted, it can cause the appearance of bands on the neck, which can also impact jawline definition. Your specialist will inject these bands and along the jawline to temporarily improve the appearance of vertical bands connecting the neck and jaw.

How does BOTOX® Cosmetic work?

A combination of factors, such as reduction of collagen or sun
exposure, can cause facial lines. Repeated muscle contractions
cause skin to furrow and fold, resulting in facial lines. BOTOX
Cosmetic works beneath the surface and temporarily reduces the
underlying muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown
lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines in adults—to help them look better. Certain repetitive movements and other factors can create a tight downward pull that can lead to vertical bands, which can impact jawline definition. BOTOX Cosmetic works beneath the surface and temporarily reduces the underlying platysma activity.
